Here for You
If you have never failed, then you have never lived. - Abraham lincoln.
Dr. Elkington is a board certified psychiatrist practicing in the Dothan area since 2017. He completed medical school and then a residency in psychiatry at West Virginia University Medical School in 2017 and moved to Dothan to began practicing with Southeast Health on their inpatient unit. In 2020 he transitioned to primarily outpatient clinical care and began his private practice in 2023, Hope and Roots LLC, where he continues to see and treat patients with
mental health problems.
He is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering where he was a member of the engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi. Following which he worked for a number of Chemical Manufacturing companies where the cost savings he identified and produced were on the order of $21 million in today’s dollars. During this time his focus was primarily on plant support and optimization but he did author two research articles on issues involved in the production of silicon carbide semiconductor wafers.
In both Psychiatry and Engineering Dr. Elkington engaged with issues of using knowledge to make good decisions, how can things be improved beyond where they are now, and what are better ways to make that happen. He continues to find satisfaction in helping his patients do those things so that they feel better.
